If I hear “It’s the will of the British people” one more time **************!!! Actually it’s the will of one wavering voter in every fifty. While in the European project Britain has lurched from one social or economic disaster to another, leaving us much weakened, but nearly every one has been an own goal. Our signings up of wingers Nigel Lawson, Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Cameron (among others) have proved very expensive and so we’ve been relegated. Who got me started on this? I did.
As it happens I’ve already blogged a Lattice Labyrinth tessellation for March 29th.,being Trefoil (29,3), for my Chilean supporter Cristián, so here it is again
(For those who haven’t read this blog root and branch what you see below is a small part of a potentially infinite tiling of the plane, comprising six identical shapes, or “supertiles” that interlock perfectly, each being made up of 29² + 29×3 + 3² = 937 little equilateral triangles. To get from the centre, say, of one supertile to the centre of the next you count 29 little triangle sides across and 3 up at 60 degrees.)
This beast does seem to be getting the Hell out of somewhere, presumably the European Union, but don’t fret, “it may never happen”…in fact, so long as there is no border in Ireland it CAN’T happen. Poles and Romanians please use the back door. Actually, we need to scarper WESTWARD, out in to the Atlantic, not Eastward into the bosom of Europe, so a better Brexiteer is Trefoil (3,29), below:
As it also happens, in the “Cameron’s Folly” blog post, appropriately dated April 1st. 2016 I asked:
What is the UK to do if (as is quite likely) the vote is 51% to 49% in either direction? (Not far out, eh!) But David Dimbleby’s grossly irresponsible “We’re Out!” on the night of the referendum appears to have pre-empted all debate on its authority.
As always, here are some links to the inexpensive how-to-do-it Lattice Labyrinths workbook which is available from the publisher or you-know-who , or from a good independent bookshop or via Google.
